"Seeing their faith, Jesus said to the paralyzed man, “My child, your sins are forgiven." - Mark 2:5
This powerful verse is found in the account of four friends who carried their paralyzed friend to Jesus for healing. Verse five states, “seeing their faith” was the reason for the healing. Their obedience and love for their friend motivated them to go out of their way, beyond their daily routine to do whatever it took to see him healed. They conquered any fears of heights they had by lowering him through a roof due to the crowd obstructing any traditional route. They put up with the pain of clawing through the roof of tar and hay to make a hole big enough to lower him with nothing but their bare hands. It must have been sturdy since it was strong enough to hold five grown men.
Sunday January 23rd, 2011 was tremendous for our Student Ministry and Church. The names of almost 100 students were entrusted to church members to lift them up to Jesus in prayer. Our students need constant prayer to make good choices, keep their hope in Christ, courage for sharing their faith and making their relationships with family and friends holy. I am thankful for the Youth Committee that helped with the presentation, Kelly Gaskill for making a great mat, Sheila for printing the cards and the WONDERFUL students God has entrusted us with.

The only negative was that we ran out of student’s names with many more church members who wanted the gift of praying specifically for them. If you were one of those who still needs a name you can contact the church office at 910-791-1949, check out www.pvbcfirehouse.org or email 4corners@pinevalleybc.org to be put on a waiting list. As names are added throughout the year we will assign them to those on the waiting list. I cannot wait to see how God will work through this.
This video was played during the presentation to put the faces of our students before our church members. | PVBC members responded faithfully by coming forward and taking every name that was available with the commitment to pray for them for one year. |
